Weekend project: securing my side bags with some stainless steel pins made from a welding rod.
Apparently a number of Concours riders have turned up at their destination only to find that they’re missing one of their side bags. Determined not to become a statistic I set about securing my side bags with some additional locking pins on the lower fitting guides.
I had some stainless steel welding rod at home which I knew was strong enough and only 2.5mm so the drilled hole would be nice and small enough not to interfere with any of the bolts already in that location.
They’re a nice close interference fit and very solid when pinned. I’m happy with this result! 🙂
